So Livejournal tells me that I haven't made a post in 67 weeks. I perceived this as an attempt to guilt me into posting, so here are some life updates from Adam.

I am still a GameStop store manager. My boss liked the fact that I fixed up my old store, so she moved me to a new store that needed some help. Initially I was worried, but things have been going pretty well. Two of the employees are cosplayers and every single one of them play Dungeons & Dragons. Needless to say, I feel quite at home. My boss also gave me a decent bonus and a raise, so I think I'll be sticking around a bit longer. At least until I get fired.

Additionally, my store did a midnight launch for Resident Evil 5. This is notable because we had a make up artist come and make my entire staff up to look like zombies. I have many photos, but they are not refined for the constraints of a livejournal post, so I shall add them at a later date. Needless to say, it was neat as shit. The regrettable portion is that I was so entwined with keeping things together that I did not get zombied. Terrible, I know. Though I have some exceptional pictures of my staff attempting to eat my brains.

Yesterday, I hit level 71 on my dragoon in Final Fantasy XI. My friends that play this game all have several jobs to 75, but not me. I play the game so sparsely that this is a genuine achievement for me. I have played since the North American launch, so I should likely be embarassed for taking so damn long. For some reason, I'm not.

I broke down and bought an Ipod Touch. No, seriously. Hold the fuck on. This is a big deal. Since my very first MP3 player, I have always vowed to never buy an Ipod. I have had www.anythingbutipod.com bookmarked since they came about. To me, the Ipod was a status symbol put into place by a company who used their lack of presence in the industry as a way to make them look "cool" or "special". Back then, Apple was the minority when it came to portable media players, so the people who owned Ipods were a small "elite" group, albeit by default.

So years later, this elite group is no longer small. In fact, this shit is mainstream. A year ago, I would have felt like an atomic toolbox buying an Ipod. Oddly enough, becoming so big has somehow made me dislike Apple less. They can no longer play the "small and elite" card. I suppose they have stood the test of time and gained my respect. It is also important to mention that my Assistant Manager at work let me mess with his Ipod Touch and I got fucking addicted. Goddamn those apps. Damn them to hades.

I'm cosplaying again. Its been years. I wanted to get back into it, but never had a costume that I wanted to do. Well, one of my good friends introduced me to something last year that rocked my fucking face off. I will not reveal my intentions simply because I don't want to jinx myself. It took me 3 years to work up the gumption to a costume again, so I certainly wouldn't want to mess it all up. Lets just say that its seriously neato and leave it there.

I think that's enough for now. Thanks to those who used their eyes to read my letters today.

I haven't posted in a while. I rarely post in the first place, but I'ts been a while, even for me. Lots of shit has happened. And by lots, I mean fucking lots. I'll make it short, so here we go.

Missy got a new job. Some of you know this. Her bosses are douchebags, but it pays the bills and the like. Around the same time, I was promoted to Assistant Manager at my old Gamestop. I say old because I no longer work there. Refer below for further details.

Soon after this, Missy and I moved. We now rent a townhouse in the south hills of the Pittsburgh area. We have a nice couch and we live two doors down from our friend's Andrew and Brandi. This is the base recipe for awesome.

We did a freelance website for my old bosses sister and bought a big TV, a WII and a PS3. I enjoy them a lot. And by a lot, I mean a fucking lot. This is the icing on the cake of awesome.

Here is where things get interesting. Last weekend, I was promoted to Store Manager of a new store. This is both good and Bad. It isn't the Gamestop I'm comfortable and proficient with. I was actually moved up to take over this shit-ridden store that lost its manager to a fight with the new DM. The store is broken and there is a whole bunch of lingering drama. They expect me to fix it up. It looks like someone has stolen some of my awesome.

To further enhance the drama, this store's assistant manager became angry that the old manager left. He flipped out and walked out on me last week. This has now caused me to be alone in my managing of the new store. Last week I worked 65 hours. Tomorrow, I work 13 hours. This adds a negative modifier to my awesome.

I was about to start making a costume for the first time in around 3 years. I also spent way too much money on next-generation video game systems and games for said systems. Now, thanks to my double-edged promotion, I can partake of neither hobby. Oh misfortune. Why must you thieve my awesome.

In a few weeks, when I hire and train another Assistant manager, things will be back to awesome. I just need to get past these emo times. Emo emo emo.

So that's the news in Adamtown. See you next mission.

I haven't posted in a while, yes. This is because I asked myself not to post if there isn't any good news. So I finally have some gewd news and thus, a reason to post. :D

If you read my journal, you read Missy's journal, (or so I assume) so most of you already know that she got a job. This is most awesome and superior. We've had a townhouse/apartment picked out for a while now, and have just been waiting to be able to afford the move. Now, we're going to be able to get oot, and that makes us most joyful.

Well, there is more good news. I was at work yesterday, and my two boss-managers pulled me into the back-room for an intervention. Interventions with multiple bosses are always scary, since no matter what is going on, you think you're going to get yelled at. Here it was actually just the opposite. See, our store has been training new managers for quite some time, and our main trainee manager is finally ready to leave to get his own store. His absence would have left a hole in our managerial roster, so the big guys decided to offer the open Assistant Manager position to me. I accepted it, needless to say. It's more pay with not-terribly-more responsibilities, so I am super happy about it. My boss immediately charged me with several new tasks, including hiring a low-tier manager to replace the position I left.

Unfortunately, awesome as this all is, I got deathly sick the same day, so I'm sitting here at home on my day off with a nasty ruttin' cold-flu-thing. Thank the stars for Thera-Flu. Space plague aside, Missy and I are thankful for our recent good fortune and hope to be out in our own place within two months.

...I'm totally buying a huge television.

So Missy and I saw Spider Man 3 at the 12:01 tonight. When you see it (because you'll definately see it) let me know if you agree with my opinion. )

So Im graduating in a few weeks and shit is mighty crazy. Ive got 80 million things to do, and only time for around 103,345. For this evening, ive been working on one of my many web assignments. This particular one is a simple coffee website made from CSS.

Missy has been helping me on and off with alignment and design. (yes, I am aware that the colors are relatively irritating, but they were the required colors) So I get to a midway point and call her in to show her how my centering has been going. Upon viewing, she busts out laughing; "Lols" if you will. Missy has requested that I post it on livejournal, so here you go.

Simple? Yes. Vulgar? That too. After all, I am quite the advocate of calling things exactly what they are. Who needs sugar coating? Seriously.

New Transformers trailer. Yes, there are transformers in it.
Be forewarned. They are most definitely not the transformers from your childhood.

For those of you who are wondering, but don't want the game, here's how it goes. This is mostly for Icca and anyone who was curious about what the game entailed of. And yeah. There are lots of spoilers here. Ill cut it into a few sections. If you just want to know about the graphics or gameplay, Ill keep spoilers out of there. If you want to know the general plot and dont care about spoilers, read onto the story section.

For the first Action RPG Shooter ever, not bad. Not good either, but not bad. Storywise, I really would have liked to see some older antagonists, opposed to so many new ones. All in all, not bad. Not at ALL for RPG only players, however. Its just a shooter with levels.

The time has finally come for my Bi-Half-Decadely (twice ever five years) rig overhaul (computer building).

Ive been saving since right before E3, but I think the time is finally right to build a new machine. Before anyone asks, there isn't anything crucially wrong with my current machine. It simply is showing its age in many aspects of gaming and digital design. Additionally, I would like to have two networked computers for several different reasons.

Either way, here is the setup for my new rig. Subject to change, but likely not by much. I'll cut it for those of who who aren't comp savvy, or who don't give two shits. Comments and suggestions are definately welcome, but no brand bias. Some people like ATI. Some people like Intel. I chose AMD and Nvidia for certain reasons, so thats that. Okay. End emo. Heres the layout.

Compy 586 )

In other news, Zeek and Meredith have the best cat ever. It doesnt make me sneeze, regardless of my allergy to cats. Missy and I went over their place and played with the cat for hours. Zeek and I lured the cat into a vase no less than 3 times. Rofl. Kitty in a vase. I even have camera phone pictures (taken with my spanking new LG VX8300) of the kitty sitting in the vase. In fact, Ive got several goofy cat pictures, so I think I shall post them. :D

Kitty + stuff )

Thats all for now. School is sick busy. Work is sick busy. I don't play video games nearly as much as I'd like, though I did get guild wars recently. I need to buy Prey when I get my new rig up and running. Oh shits. Im gonna be late for work. Time to go! Have a nice day!

Real odd request to anyone reading.

I need a 30 second music clip of some sort of elevator music, or cheesy music that sounds like it would be heard in an elevator. Doctors office music will also be accepted as they usually sound the same. I've got a video editing project (yes, Im in web design, but I have a video editing project.) and I need some elevator music for it. Copyright is of no concern, so if anyone has anything on their computer, or any suggestions on where I could procure some of said music, please let me know! TANKYEW!

E3 Report #1 - Wednesday Night

So here we are, the first official night of E3 is over. There was some coolass shit, I have to say. Ive taken around 250 pictures thus far, and I havent even camped out the hall with Sony and Microsoft in it yet. Im gonna post 15 of the best ones for my report though. The pics are at 1024x768, as me and [info]psythe couldnt resize em, so watch out if youre running a 56k'er.

#1 - Here's [info]psythe waving his hand at mach 3 in front of the capcom booth,
#2 - This is the badass Lost Planet booth. Its a rockin shooter for the X360
#3 - These are squares new Kingdom Hearts 2 Figures that excited me much. Kairi and Sora here.
#4 - More KH2 figures, here we have Roxas and Axel. Super awesome.
#5 - Speaking of KH2, heres a giant, lifesize sora statue. :D
#6 - And speaking of lifesize statues, here is a Judge from FFXII. Hawt.
#7 - Continuing with statues, heres sonic the hedgehog. :D
#8 - This dark picture is me playing the new sonic on the PS3. Yeah. The Ps3.
#9 - This is the NCSoft booth. (guildwars, lineage II, etc) They had a band. Twas rockin.
#10 - And this is a shot from NCSofts new action mech MMO called Exsteel. It was uber fun,
#11 - Character screen for Exsteel. So hardcore.
#12 - A bit blurry, this was part of the Microsoft setup. Definately the hottest architecture.
#13 - Jenny Mcarthy. She was playing the Shadowrun FPS game.
#14 - And Gilbert Gottfried, reporting for Maxim. Yay celebs.
#15 - Here is the new WoW Alliance race for the Burning Crusade. The Draenei.

All in all, Its been a super hardcore expo so far. There were a few letdowns (such as the absence of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.) as well as some surprises (like playable PS3s EVERYWHERE) and Im sure tomorrow will rock even harder. The only thing I havent done is play the Nintendo Wii, which i really want to do. Hopefully, tomorrow will hold that.

Oh, one one super sweet note, I was watching the new 15 minute trailer for MGS4 (which is superior) and some members from Konami.co.jp walked up to me and asked if they could interview me about MGS4. They asked questions like "how did you like the trailer?" and "what would you like to say to Mr. Kojima?". It was pretty keen. Afterwards, they asked me if it was cool if they posted it on their site, so I said YESPLZ. All in all, sbeen a badarse day. Hopefully, tomorrow will match. :D

Quote of today: "Tell that snake to be cool! Say be cool snake!"

Today is the day before I leave for E3. I feel that warrents a post, so here we go!

Exactly 12 hours from now, I will be on a plane heading for LA. This is my first E3, so I am very very excited. This is a particularly amazing year, as there are tons of incoming things to see. [info]psythe said that the hotel has internet and that he was bringing his laptop. If things go smoothly and [info]psythe doesn't mind me using his rig for a bit, I'll update livejournal with an overview of what Ive seen. Hopefully, Ill be able to get some good pictures to upload as well.

Thats all for now. Hope to post wednesday with some badass news. :D
